Who are we?

Rit De Grande and Luc Smits propose their chambres d’hôtes with table d’hôtes in Boussay, between the church and the Château de Boussay. Boussay is an 18th century village with unique ardoise roofs in the Touraine-du-Sud, Indre et Loire department.

Rit with her paramedical background ( physiotherapy-ergonomics) and Luc with his special knowledge of books and collection of antique books, went looking for their dream project in the Touraine.

The Touraine was for a few years already Rit’s favorite place to play with her artistic talents: watercolor, acrylic paint on canvas and her first statues were made there. The presence of castles and abbeys rising up alongside the Creuse, the Claise, the Indre and the Loire added to the inspiration.

Luc was also familiar with the surroundings: the book village Montmorillon, book markets in Poitiers, Loches, Angles-sur l’Anglin,…

We had been looking around for a year when we found a u-shaped house in the middle of the charming 18th century village Boussay. The left wing of the building was the old Village Hall of  Boussay, the center wing was once the favorite recreation place of the bishop of Tours. The right wing was the residence of an owl and several couples of swallows.

You could hear the silence there…

Still being used to the workload of our previous activities, we succeeded in a short time, to revive this beautiful building using good practice and high quality workmanship together with authentic materials.

Our chambers d’hôtes are born.

Since we both enjoy gastronomy and do not hesitate to put on the cook’s cap for our guests, we offer a table d’hôtes as well.

We still needed a name:

Atelier Millefeuilles

Atelier means the artists workshop that can be a meeting point for creative minds, artists, writers, cooks,…

Millefeuilles refers to the countless pages of the antique books, the watercolors on watercolor paper and the proposed culinary specialties.

We are so proud of our project and we hope to welcome you soon.
